Henry Paulson, he is the Secretary in the US Treasury has called on Congress, renewing the trade promotion authority; this is a legislation which allows Congress to agree on trading agreements without necessary amendments by voting.
"Members in the House need to move faster in order to reauthorize the Trade Promotion Authority," Paulson said. "Americans will be benefiting in the open markets here and abroad for exports of products."
This trade promotion authority will be expiring on June 30 and House Democrats shows few signs preparing to take steps in renewing this authority.
The officials in US works with the Democrats to check if there are ways in renewing TPA, this could be difficult with the Democratic critics that this free trade agreements and failure enforcing this agreements can lead to US job losses and recorded trade deficits in US.
Susan Schwab, she is the US Trade Representative stated that TPA is called for to ascertain US advancement in trading interests. . "US must be game and not in sidelines as other nations negotiating deals that disadvantageous in our business, farms, ranches and service providers," she said.
