Recent statistics published by the International Alumimium Institute show that the aluminium production on a daily basis in the world increased to an average of about 99,600 tonnes in the first half of 2007 against the 89,000 tonnes it reached the year before.
All in all, the production of aluminium grew up to 10.03 million tonnes in the same period as compared to the 16.1 million tonnes of last year.
The statistics also inform that the daily production grew also for primary aluminium up to 102,300 tonnes in June, as compared to only 99,700 tonnes that was in May.
However, because of the lower number of working days in June, the total aluminium production was smaller than the one recorded in May, that's 3.07 million tonnes compared to 3.09 million tonnes in May.
China helped this increase, as it produced in the same period about 5.89 million tonnes of aluminium, against the 4.31 million tonnes it had produced last year, and the monthly aluminium production in June grew to 1.034 million tonnes as compared to only 1.002 million tonnes the month before.
