France, UK Want VAT Cut On Environmentally Friendly Goods
 Posted on Jul-26-2007

In a recent speech, French president Nicholas Sarkozy affirmed concerning the economy that talks and agreements with between France and China would be prefferable regarding the under-evaluation of the Chinese currency, the yuan.

The French president confirmed now, as he did earlier this week in a speech in Toulouse that he finds a problem with the rate of the yuan. He added that he would gladly discuss this matter with the Chinese officials.

President Sarkozy also expressed his requests to reevaluate the Chinese currency with a note of criticism to Beijing for their rather unfair policies concerning the trading of goods and for the refusal to reciprocate the fairness of the European Market.

He added to his critical speech that he believes in a rather loyal commerce and just competition, things that the Beijing leaders don't seem to take into account in their policy. Mr. Sarkozy went on saying that Europe doesn't have to be the only continent playing a game of facing other countries that choose to play by other rules.

The speech continued with Sarkozy's intention of opening Europe's markets, but that he requires the same to happen for all the other countries.

The President blamed China and other industrialized economies for not taking the responsibility for the efforts on global warming, an important subject on the agenda in his meeting with Brown.

Sarkozy later expressed his surprise in knowing that China, India and Indonesia don't want to take part in the world's fight against global warming.
