 Posted on Apr-03-2007

In the second quarter of trading the Nasdaq Stock Market will be launching an index that was designed for the purpose of being able to monitor the performance of the most actively traded Chinese companies by the United States. This information was cited from the Financial Times.

This index was created to allow for a larger transparency of Chinese based companies that are listed by the US. To start with there will be thirty companies that are reported to be worth over 600 billion US dollars.

Nasdaq executive John Jacobs stated that the country of China is well on the verge of taking a place as the world’s fourth largest
