Same store sales numbers drop in March for Haverty
 Posted on Apr-05-2007

Sales numbers for stores opened at least one year dropped 13 ½ percent for Haverty Furniture. The retailer of home furnishings claimed that this was due to a weakness among the housing sector.

Same-store sales numbers are extremely important in measuring a store’s retail performance.

The home product retailer reported that March sales totaled 66.1 million dollars, which is down from 74.7 million dollars during the same month last year.

During the first quarter for Haverty sales for same-stores plummeted almost 10 ½ percent while overall sales fell 8.6% to 191.1 million dollars from 209.1 million last year.

One hundred and twenty one showrooms in 17 Midwest and Southern states are currently owned and operated by Haverty Furniture.
